Adoption Policy

A responsible home can change a life forever.

At HiPaws, adoption is a deeply thoughtful process. Every dog we rescue has already been through uncertainty, pain or abandonment. Our responsibility is to ensure that their next home is safe, stable and permanent.

We believe adoption should never be an emotional impulse. It should be a lifetime commitment made with full understanding of the dog’s needs.

Our policies are strict because the well-being of the dog always comes first.

Who is NOT Available for Adoption

HiPaws is a recovery home, not a commercial adoption platform. Many of the dogs in our care require special protection and continuous medical monitoring.

We do NOT give the following dogs for adoption:

Physically disabled dogs (paralyzed, amputees, severe mobility impairment)
Dogs requiring long-term or lifetime medical care
Dogs who need continuous medical supervision
Critically ill dogs or dogs under active intensive treatment
Extremely old or medically fragile dogs
Cases where adoption may compromise the dog’s recovery or survival

Such dogs remain under our lifetime protection through Project Karuna, as they may not survive without specialized care.

Our priority is always the best interest of the dog, not simply finding an adopter.

Who is Available for Adoption

We only offer dogs for adoption who are healthy, stable and ready to adjust in a home environment.

Available dogs may include:

Indian (Indie) dogs
Breed dogs (subject to availability)
Vaccinated dogs
Sterilized dogs (or adoption with sterilization commitment)
Dogs who are physically stable and do not require intensive ongoing medical supervision
Dogs who are emotionally ready for a home transition

Our aim is to ensure that every adoption is successful and permanent, so the dog never has to face abandonment again.

Adoption Location Policy (Very Important)

We are NOT into daily out-of-Delhi NCR adoptions.

Adoptions are strictly limited to Delhi NCR region in most cases.

We generally do not offer outstation adoptions because:

Saving lives
Creating inclusive communities
Inspiring compassion in society

Our Adoption Screening Process

Because our responsibility does not end at adoption, we follow a strict screening process:

Adoption form submission
Basic discussion to understand family environment
House check (if required)
Agreement to our adoption terms
Commitment for responsible lifelong care
Follow-up updates after adoption

We reserve the right to refuse adoption if we feel the environment may not be suitable for the dog.

Basic Adoption Expectations

By adopting from HiPaws, you agree to:

Provide a safe indoor living environment
Never abandon the dog under any circumstances
Provide timely vaccinations and medical care
Ensure sterilization if not already done
Keep the dog as a family member, not as a security object
Never chain or isolate the dog for long durations
Inform us if any major issue arises
Stay in touch with occasional updates

Adoption means giving the dog security, dignity and lifelong care.

Important Note

HiPaws is not a paid adoption service, breeder, foster agency or pet supplier.

We rescue dogs in need, treat them, rehabilitate them and then carefully place only suitable candidates in responsible homes.

Many dogs who come to us have already been abandoned once. We cannot allow them to go through that trauma again.

Final Thought 🐾

If you are ready to welcome a dog with patience, kindness and commitment, adoption can be one of the most beautiful decisions of your life.

A rescued dog may come with a past…

but with the right family, they always find a future.

Apply for adoption responsibly. Give a home. Give a lifetime.

If you’d like to adopt, feel free to drop us an email - we’d love to hear from you!
