Karuna, the name represents Kindness and other than, Project Annapurna this is the second major signature project which keeps us on our toes. The project involves attending SOS calls and rescuing critically ill, injured dogs and dogs with tumour/cancerous conditions from the streets and admitting them at the recovery home for veterinary treatment, surgery and post-operative care till recovery.

HiPaws is strictly a no-kill organization and we follow, “Rescue, Rehabilitate, Sterilize, and Release” approach. At times, we determine that the rescued dog will no longer be able to survive on the streets so those who do not fit in the cycle remain in the recovery home until end-of-life care.
As much as we would love to be able to provide forever homes to each and every rescue we help, we simply don’t have the resources or space, especially with our priority spaces being dedicated to dogs with permanent disabilities, malignant tumours and terminal illness and senior dogs we rescue. With your help, we can change that.
In the challenging conditions for animals in India, community dogs frequently experience permanent disabilities caused by car accidents, abuse, or untreated life-threatening illness. Whenever we receive information about a community dog in need, our Animal Rescue Teams promptly take action by locating and safely transporting the dog to our facility for proper care.
