Annapurna is the Goddess of food in the Indian context. We have dedicated this project to providing freshly prepared meals to the community dogs surviving on the streets. We started feeding the community dogs during the first lockdown. Initially, it all began with only a handful of dogs but as we started allocating more time and resources, the number of dogs increased and it’s been 3 years now since we have never skipped providing them a meal and currently, we are feeding around ~250 dogs daily.
We are continuously exploring new feeding locations such as landfills, and isolated locations where our furry friends have no source of proper food and water.

The meal for the dogs is prepared daily at the recovery home and the cooking process takes up to 5 hours. We currently have a dedicated helper who prepares the meals and packs them in properly washed food drums. Our feeder and ambulance driver picks up the food drums from the recovery home and serves the food in reusable tiffin boxes which helps to maintain cleanliness at the feeding spots.
